Reconnecting With Your Intentions

Share

How are you doing? I hope you are living closer to your ideal lifestyle every day.

Whether you’re conscious of it or not, you’re making choices and taking actions daily that move you closer to or further away from your ideal kind of life. I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. I believe that our choices are closely linked to what we feel worthy of experiencing.

Ask good questions

A simple way to tune into this is to ask yourself if you feel like you’re growing in your life. Ask yourself:

  • Are you feeling challenged in your work?
  • Are you creating deeper connections in your important relationships?
  • Are you making time for your personal interests?
  • Are you nurturing your health and wellness?

Take stock regularly

I recently made it a point to deeply consider where I was at in these areas of my life. Like you, I have a multi-faceted life that sees me shifting between roles: wife, mother, sister, advocate, teacher, global citizen. It’s a fluid existence that can be extremely satisfying. And if I don’t downshift regularly, it can be exhausting, leaving me questioning everything.

Setting intentions at certain times during the year helps me to stay focused on what’s most important to me. For instance, one of my intentions this year is to create more abundance. This can take on different forms, such as abundance of time, patience, money, energy, or ideas. When I focus on this intention, it helps remind me how I want to live and redefines the choices I make.

Where it all starts

Self-care begins when you look through your many roles and responsibilities and see your soul. When you connect with the way you most want to live. This manifests itself in big and small ways. It effects how you relate to others in day-to-day settings as well as how you take care of yourself.

I encourage you to set some intentions this year that support your ideals. As you take steps forward each day, may you do so in a way that fills you up. When you’re refreshed, it is so much easier and fun to refresh others.

Blessings,
Sheila
