No Sugar – Just Flavour

Many people don’t realize the amount of sugar and preservatives added to many store-bought salad dressing brands. Just check out the label on your favorite. You may be shocked.

The good news is that you can easily craft a homemade version with a few simple ingredients that will store nicely in your fridge.

Mustard Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup grapeseed oil

  • ¼ cup minced shallot (1 small)

  • 2 Tbsp white wine vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • pinch of ground black pepper

Make it:

  • Combine ingredients in a mason jar and tighten lid.

  • Shake vigorously for 1 minute.

  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

  • Shake before each use.

  • Although grapeseed oil tends to stay liquid, olive oil can sometimes go solid in the fridge. If it does, sit the jar in warm water for several minutes and shake until it is the desired consistency.
