Drink up some liquid sunshine with this Tropical Sunrise Smoothie.

For too long, we’ve been taught to avoid all fat, assuming it would cause high cholesterol and weight gain. Thankfully, we have a new understanding of the various fats found in foods and their effects on the body.

Coconut oil is considered a saturated fat, but taken in small amounts each day, it’s actually good for you. It satiates hunger and helps your body release unwanted body fat. Yes please!

The Skinny On Good Fats

Healthy fats like coconut oil, avocado, olive oil, and flax seeds are important to brain function, skin regeneration, and other body functions. Consider adding 1/2 a teaspoon to your morning smoothie.

Always select cold pressed, virgin coconut oil for the highest nutrient value. You’ll know by the sweet, coconut smell that it’s the right one.
