Introducing:
The Sheila Botelho Show
Hey there! It’s Sheila. Welcome to the Connect Podcast. Last August I decided I wanted to start a podcast. I took some photos, bought a new microphone and started to plan it out. As I did, I became vividly aware of all the directions this could go!
What began as a fun idea to connect with my online community became a catalyst for deepening my own soul’s purpose. Like anyone, my life has had many twists and turns and each one has taken me into different seasons of life and shown me new possibilities. As I considered the journey I’ve been on and the successes and growth opportunities along the way, I became aware of a common thread: I love people, I love hearing their stories and helping them live healthier and happier. I love connecting people to each other so everyone is elevated.Â
As I refined my purpose, I expanded my message from wellness and self-care into worthiness, self-love and the pursuit of MORE. You see, I realized that I had achieved the dream life I had envisioned many years ago and I was content. I had bought into the belief that it was ‘good enough.’ But there was a longing in my soul for MORE. More to explore in this beautiful life.
So I began 2020 with big plans. It was all going smoothly and I was in the flow when… my father died. February 28th. I won’t go into the details, but we had a difficult relationship in recent years. His passing marked 7 years of other meaningful losses in my life, including my sister and my mother and led me through many emotions that placed even greater emphasis on living more deeply in my purpose.
Then the pandemic hit and the much needed awakening surrounding racial injustice began. In all of this, the need for uplifting others became even more obvious. So here we are — a year after I thought I might like to start a podcast. And there’s even more to share… My hope in future episodes is to share an idea – a story – a thought that can help YOU connect more clearly to your purpose and live it out loud. I hope you’ll join me. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my life, it’s that the HOW can be learned. It’s your reason WHY that can only come from within you.
Thanks for listening & I’ll see you on the next episode!
