The Silver Lining Isn't Found. It's Drawn

People have told me for years that I’m lucky to be such a happy person. And I receive that warmly. But luck is not the whole story. What looks like happiness from the outside is something I’ve been actively, intentionally cultivating my entire life, starting with a mother who modeled extraordinary grace under pressure before I could even walk.

This minisode is personal and it is practical. I share where my optimism actually came from, why I believe the silver lining is something you draw rather than something you find, and what that practice has meant for my relationships, my drive, and my wellbeing across seasons that were genuinely hard.

I also share data about our minds, wellbeing and post-traumatic growth research that confirm what I have lived: that optimism is not just a mindset. It is a measurable, physiological practice with real effects on how we heal, how we lead, and how long we thrive.
