The Sequence I Trust When I'm Stuck
I’ve spent years thinking my way toward decisions, some small, some enormous, believing that if I just thought long enough, the answer would eventually arrive. It didn’t always. Sometimes more thinking just meant more circling.
This episode walks through the exact sequence I use now to break that pattern. Think it through with someone who can reflect it back to me. Move my body while I work through the details. Take the action instead of waiting for total certainty. Come back and reflect through the lens of what actually happened. It isn’t a framework I built to sound good. It’s the sequence that’s held me through some of my hardest decisions over the past several years.
If you’re in a season of deep decision or transition right now, and you know you trend toward living in your head, this episode gives you a structure to hold onto so you can move forward without losing yourself in your options.

In This Episode:
- Why I trend toward living in my head during seasons of deep decision or transition
- The boundary I’ve learned to set around how long I let myself stay there
- Why having someone to reflect with has been essential to my process as an outward processor
- How bringing my body into the process, especially walking, gives me clarity my mind alone can’t
- The four part sequence I use: think it through, move my body, take action, reflect
- Why taking action, regardless of outcome, builds self trust faster than staying in your head
- The difference between choosing the discomfort of moving forward and the discomfort of staying stuck
